Take a deep breath.
It’s time to take care of you.

“I’m so glad I’m here. Everything hurts…
Can you just make it better??”
Yes, yes I can.
My name is Alexandra Kay and I’ve been a licensed massage therapist for over 15 years. I have been witness to thousands of people complaining of pain and dysfunction. I have extensive training in working with muscles and soft tissue…and if you’re still reading, my guess is that you probably don’t need a list of my training, you just want to know if I can help.
You’re in the right place.
Here’s what I know: humans are so much more than bones and muscles. We are our emotions, our experiences, our beliefs. Our physical bodies are the expression of who we are - they contain our stories.
Your body gives me hints about you. If you come in with back pain and I simply rub the muscles in your back and send you home, you’ll be in my office again soon because the pain persists. But if you come in with back pain and we talk about why you experience it, we can adjust accordingly.
For example, you might say, “I bend at the waist to pick up my toddler.” Ok, let’s talk about what muscles that involves, use appropriate massage techniques, and learn a better way to pick up your kiddo to avoid back pain. Better.
But you might say, “I’m a working mom of three kids and I feel overwhelmed because there’s so much going on during the day.”
Ah - a common story that often results in back pain. Now we can do all of the above, plus talk about ways to make small changes in your day so you feel more supported, more appreciated, more capable, more YOU.
It is my job - no, my calling - to help you feel better. We get to the stories behind the physical pain. Through the process of telling and rewriting our stories, and addressing the effects they’ve had on our body, our body releases the tension. This is how we heal.
Yes, I witness pain and dysfunction. But I also witness healing.
