I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) for 16 years.  In that time, I have worked with literally thousands of clients at big chain franchises, chiropractic offices, quaint day spas, and luxury salons. We discuss symptoms and diagnoses, specific muscle attachments, exercises and stretches, and treatment plans.  When I was choosing what school to attend for my certification, I specifically chose a school known for their scientific application - there was zero “woo.”  But you know the truth of things?  Science and woo are best friends.  Science and woo are inseparable.

This isn’t just massage, this is touch.

Touch, in it’s purest form, is a sacred communication.  I believe our physical body holds our whole lifetime of experiences and emotions, and sometimes, in our conscious minds, we don’t even know what muscles are tight or how they got that way.  But your body knows.  And yes, in the woo-iest way, it communicates to me.  I interpret it and offer touch, and together, you, your body, and I find your unique language that helps you absolutely melt into the table.

When your session is finished, I encourage you to breathe for several breaths before getting up.  While you dress, I prepare some tea or water and a small snack.  We sit on the couch or in a pile of pillows and I give you space to come back down to earth.  These few, precious moments after receiving touch can feel very open, very raw, and we can sit in peaceful silence or we can talk about the physical and emotional (and sometimes spiritual!) shifts that occurred.   And yes, we can talk science too.
